PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Forklift operation experience may be a plus
SKILLS:
· Ability to perform basic fabrication duties (i.e. sawing, sanding, trimming, routing, cleaning, and bonding)
· Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and work instructions.
· Familiarity and experience with basic measuring equipment and hand tools related to job duties.
· Ability to detect and resolve errors with limited supervision.
· Ability to operate forklift safely.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Ability to wear all required PPE specific to job duties (may include respiratory equipment)
· Ability to operate basic hand tools and departmental equipment safely and efficiently in order to perform assigned job duties.
· Ability to stand and sit stationary for several hours at a time.
· Ability to lift up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.
· Ability to work in environment with exposure to various chemicals, dust and odors, and various machine heat cycles
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High School or GED
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Perform fabrication tasks with general supervision.
· Ensure proper part identification and/or record S/N for plastics and windows manufactured with limited assistance.
· Perform 1st piece inspection with general supervision.
· Operate various machines in the fabrication department when required, to include vacuum machine and ovens with assistance.
· Operate forklift as required.
· Beyond the scope of normal assembly (installing rivets and assembling small components), this position may assist with the fabrication of High Visibility Doors, testing Rescue Hoist, assembling Emergency Float Kits, and other extensive / technical assembly operations.
· Other duties as assigned.
